Meet Nina Sheere

Registered Clinical Counsellor (#13991) since 2016 & RCC-ACS Candidate as of 2024

Registered Clinical Counsellor at Nina Sheere Counselling & Consulting

Clinical Director & Co-Founder at Scott Sheere Wellness

I offer psychotherapy services in Port Moody and online across BC. I have been a Clinical Counsellor since 2016 and have been working in the mental health field since 2009. Outside of my practice, I am also a mom, and a first responder spouse and can connect to both the joys and unique challenges that these roles present.

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Victoria. I have further training in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and 200 hours of yoga teacher training as well as 200 hours of meditation and mindfulness training. I have extensive experience working with concurrent disorders and trauma and have completed First Responders Training to better support Emergency and Frontline services. Outside of my client-focused work, I currently supervise Clinical Interns whom are completing a practicum, and work as Adjunct Faculty at Adler University teaching Ethics in Counselling Psychology.

I have been working in the field of mental health for over a decade, across a variety of organizations. My current practice includes private practice serving teens, adults and couples, group therapy and consulting services offering workshops and trainings. My practice is rooted in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). I encourage clients to explore their internal world, their relationship with themselves, and how this translates into other relationships and all aspects of their lives. Therapy sessions with me are often grounded in the neuroscience of attachment, and include parts work, a trauma-informed lens and occasionally, some dark humour. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most critical part of therapy – so I encourage potential clients to “shop around” until your gut says yes.

A common theme for my clients is a feeling of repeating patterns in their behaviours, relationships and ways of thinking. I love exploring the origins of these patterns, understanding and cultivating compassion, and then if they are no longer serving you, supporting you in letting go and creating new ways of being.

I look forward to meeting you. Touch base for a free consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
